Cindy Crawford has broken her silence nearly a month after the death of her 27-year-old son, Presley Gerber, in a heartfelt Instagram post honoring his life.
Crawford shared a black-and-white photo Sunday along with a statement from herself, husband Rande Gerber and daughter Kaia. “He is a sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever.” The family said they felt fortunate to have had Presley in their lives for 27 years and were proud of how he showed up in the world with kindness and vulnerability.
Kaia also shared a post of her own honoring her late brother and recounting memories from their childhood. “I was born loving you. I will die loving you. There was never anything else,” Kaia’s message said. Before the posts, the family had remained largely private in the weeks following Presley’s death.
Presley Gerber died Sept. 20 while staying at a Santa Monica rehabilitation facility, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office. Santa Monica police investigated the death as a suspected overdose and found no indication of foul play. The L.A. County Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy as well but postponed determining the manner of death and official cause pending additional testing.
Presley was the oldest child and only son of Crawford and Rande Gerber, and the older brother of Kaia. He followed in his mother’s footsteps as a model and worked with major fashion brands, including Dolce & Gabbana and Calvin Klein. He also appeared alongside Crawford in Pepsi’s 2018 Super Bowl campaign.
Crawford’s post ended by thanking family, friends and strangers for their support and the outpouring of love. “We love you forever, Mom, Dad and Kaia,” the message concluded.
